GRAPHIC DESIGN: introduction

on 07 August 2014

Remember that each type of media is different, so it is not a good idea to use a newspaper advertisement on a billboard. After all you wouldn’t wear your pajamas to church or a fancy dinner would you?

One powerful ad can make you a fortune, but ten horrible advertisements can cost you thousands (possibly millions) of dollars. This is why it is extremely important to pay attention to every detail of your ads.

Throughout the creation of every piece of graphic design for your company, you should be considering and developing a brand for your business. Corporate branding begins with a well thought out plan to unify your corporate image into a cohesive package combining design, color, imagery, copy and spoken word. All these components should be weighed equally as each supports the other but also because people react and learn from information in many ways. This includes visual input, by reading, by explanation, by touch, smell, muscle memory, etc.

This must be accomplished across all media platforms. It is very important to concentrate this effort in printed design as you only get one chance to get this right.

In considering graphic design Selle Design Group uses a proven approach. The first step is to create a logo which will be the spokes person for your business in print. Next the use a consistent color scheme can help increase familiarity of your brand. The color scheme should be developed along side of the images and theme of imagery you choose to represent your company.

At Selle Design Group, we have the expertise to help you create a brand from start to finish. Throughout our creative process we consider what message you are trying to convey and how best to brand the concept.
